Despite the club board’s support for the beleaguered Mourinho, the Portuguese has come under severe attack from fans, players and followers of the EPL.
One of these is the former England manager Fabio Capello, who in a recent chat with Fox Sports linked Chelsea’s disappointing start to the season to Mourinho burning out his players.

Capello said: “Mourinho burns out his players after a year and a half, at most two years.
“I had already heard it when he was in Madrid and now we have confirmation in London.
“It is true that Chelsea are paying for some of their absences – like [Thibaut] Courtois – but there have also been tactical errors from the coach, who this year is not preparing for matches very well.”
Chelsea have been poor so far in this campaign and sit 16th, having lost more top-flight matches already this term than they did in the whole of 2014-15.
The most recent defeat came over the weekend when his team fell 3-1 at home to Southampton.
